Brief
In 2023, the MAZ hospital in Zaragoza switched to a renewable energy system in line with its sustainability goals. A PVT installation is highly suitable for a hospital due to its significant hot water demand and substantial electricity consumption.
Technology
This hybrid solar installation consists of 90 PVT panels manufactured by Abora Solar and placed on the hospital’s rooftop by Veolia. PVT panels produce both heat and electricity, making them an an efficient solution for critical areas of the hospital such as operating rooms, laundries, and kitchens. Furthermore, as a low-carbon energy source they significantly reduce the hospital’s emissions, contributing to a more sustainable future in the public health sector.
Financial Structure
The payback period of this installation is 4 years.
