Brief

The Iberostar Royal Andalus hotel in Chiclana de la Frontera cooperated with Abora Solar with the objective to reduce the hotel’s carbon footprint through an innovative and efficient renewable energy system. As the rooftop surface of the hotel is limited, they opted for PVT panels, making the most of the constrained space.

Technology

This hybrid solar installation consists of 300 PVT panels, generating both heat and electricity. These solar panels were installed by Arki and are able to meet the needs of heating, air conditioning, domestic hot water and electricity of the hotel. Furthermore, the produced solar thermal energy is also used to heat the outdoor pools of the hotel.

Thanks to this switch to renewable energy, the hotel saves 204,785 kg of CO2 emissions every year.

Financial Structure

The payback period of this installation is 7 years. Thanks to the on-site electricity and heat production, the energy bills of the hotel were significantly reduced.
