Brief
In 2016, the company headquarters of the natural cosmetics company Aromapflege was built in Lechaschau, close to the Bavarian-Austrian border. The building features training rooms and a cafeteria and is almost entirely energy self-sufficient, with the sun covering 75% of the heating demand. This company building is a successful example of the intelligent combination of solar heat, photovoltaics and storage – with only 5 percent additional costs compared to a conventional building.
Technology
The solar thermal technology used in this installation are flat plate collectors placed on the company headquarters’ roof that supply the underfloor heating system of the building. The produced solar heat is stored in a 25,000m³ buffer tank and distributed to the underfloor heating throughout the building. A 23 kWp photovoltaic system and 40 kWh electricity storage supply the lighting and charging stations for electric cars.
Financial Structure
The project was financed by the owner.
