Communications and Events Officer

Heat represents half of our energy needs and its decarbonisation must be a priority to meet Europe’s ambition to be climate neutral by 2040.  Solar heat is one of the technologies that can help this energy transition journey as a ready-to-deploy, made in Europe, affordable, clean and efficient technology.

Solar Heat Europe/ESTIF is looking for a dynamic person who will be promoting the visibility of the solar thermal industry at EU level and who will support the work of the team regarding policy communication and event management. The role will also include the development of communications activities for EU funded projects and related platforms.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Draft and implement communication strategies, produce material related to the core work of Solar Heat Europe and its various policy activities (eg Market data, policy support, drafting of press releases etc), supported by the Communications WG.
  • Support communications and dissemination of EU projects involving our Association (in line with the project deliverables and reports, writing updates and articles for the project website and newsletters, online promotion).
  • Manage the various social media channels of the Association (Linkedin, X, Facebook), by designing and drafting engaging content to strengthen digital presence and by monitoring the analytics of these channels.
  • Manage the current website with regular relevant updates and coordinate the development of the new one.
  • Coordinate the design and production of communications material, including videos, visual identity & logo, roll ups, brochures, document and presentation templates.
  • Support the coordination and planning of the communication & promotion of internal and external events.
  • Ensuring adequate internal information and communication with members (regular updates, event opportunities, newsletters, etc).
  • Manage and update the internal and external databases and distribution lists of the association.

The candidate should have:

  • Excellent communication skills (preferably in the field of energy)
  • At least two years of experience in relevant areas
  • Ideally some experience in EU project communications experience in EC-funded programs
  • Excellent writing/editing skills in English (near-native level);
  • Excellent knowledge of Office 365, Communication and monitoring tools, including MailChimp, social media channels, and website (WordPress)
  • Ability to multi-task and to work on different projects at the same time
  • Ability to understand and translate complex technical issues into clear messages for different audiences
  • Creative, proactive, organised and flexible
  • Ability to work on own initiatives to implement new approaches to communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team spirited with the ability to interact within the team, the Association members and external stakeholders
  • EU citizenship
